letras molde alrededor y, en el centro, donde siempre fue una foto fija, la fuerza del violoncello de yoyoma sonando en vivo. Después obama y su discurso inaugural. entre otras definiciones más o menos relevantes, este tambien fue el dia en que el diario se convirtió en tele, y casi casi creimos en volver al futuro.

Nicholas Carr explica en la última edición del The Atlantic, con buenos ejemplos y de forma muy clara, lo que hasta antes de leerlo, era para mi una fuerte pero inentiligible sensación de que tanta lectura en internet estaba "jodiendo" mi cerebro. La pregunta que plantea es:

¿Internet nos esta convirtiendo en lectores de superficie, pancake people’—spread wide and thin as we connect with that vast network of information accessed by the mere touch of a button?

vale la pena leerlo, dice cosas como esta:

"So, yes, you should be skeptical of my skepticism. Perhaps those who dismiss critics of the Internet as Luddites or nostalgists will be proved correct, and from our hyperactive, data-stoked minds will spring a golden age of intellectual discovery and universal wisdom. Then again, the Net isn’t the alphabet, and although it may replace the printing press, it produces something altogether different. En la revista del NYT del domingo acerca la –delgada- línea de confianza sobre la que se mueve google:

“To love Google, you have to be a little bit of a monarchist, you have to have faith in the way people traditionally felt about the king,” Tim Wu, a Columbia law professor and a former scholar in residence at Google, told me recently.

“One reason they’re good at the moment is they live and die on trust, and as soon as you lose trust in Google, it’s over for them.” Google’s claim on our trust is a fragile thing. After all, it’s hard to be a company whose mission is to give people all the information they want and to insist at the same time on deciding what information they get.
